Roleplay & PvP
“At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst.”
Aristotle
Roleplay is encouraged on our server, however, be mindful that rules still apply and that any adult roleplay, or other offensive and obscene roleplay will not be tolerated.
When roleplaying, be mindful that it is just roleplay, what someone says may not necessarily be true and is only or should be intended to be fun enjoyment of the game. Some may not wish to roleplay, and that's okay. At the end of the day, keep roleplay within roleplay, and do not argue over it.
In order to roleplay and hold powerful positions on the server, like as a leader of a nation or city, political figure, etc., you MUST have a wiki page for your character to be used to record your status, what you have done, etc. Roleplaying without a wiki page for your character will be considered disruptive / troll roleplay.
Local chat, emotes, yells, whispers, and birds are all considered in roleplay, using them implies you are roleplaying and they are subject to roleplay rules.
Trolling while roleplaying or being disruptive to others who are roleplaying is punishable by staff.
When you engage in roleplay, that is you consenting to roleplay, you are then held accountable to any and all actions done or said by you or to you. If you do not wish to roleplay, do not engage to begin with. You may not leave mid roleplay and void the roleplay that has already been done unless agreed upon by the parties involved.
You may edit your roleplay name to something like "Hooded man" in order to conceal your identity etc, but be careful not to troll name etc. Age set to zero is equivalent to unknown.
In order to verify roleplay status you should keep tangible evidence of all roleplay interaction such as screenshots and videos in order to prove what happened should the need arise.
Metagaming is an important factor when considering roleplay, and as such there are rules in place to determine what is or is not metagaming. When using information in roleplay:
Any information on the wiki that your character would reasonable know can be used.
You can not use global chat or ooc chats for roleplay.
You can not use the server discord other than #roleplay-announcements, #nations, #bounty-board, and #player-guilds.
You can not use Dynmap or anything else outside of in game for roleplay information of underground structures.
You can not use DMs unless stated that they are speaking in roleplay.
You can not use any channel in a 3rd party Discord that is not considered roleplay. Channels that are considered roleplay are announcements and notice channels, channels that give information on locations, characters, or the nation itself, or channels that are used for the function of a nation like a governing body, internal communications, diplomacy, storing information, etc. Staff may review these sources on a case to case basis as brought up. As a result, staff must be provided full admin access to 3rd party Discords in order to effectively determine context.
You can acquire information using informats provided they gather information following the above rules and provide it to you in accordance with them as well.
Be mindful of these things when creating your characters:
No player characters are to be considered gods.
No player characters were alive during the Old World, and or exceed the age of 500.
No unrealistic names, lore, skin, or other aspect.
No non-medieval or shit post skins.
No contradicting wiki pages marked as "Canon", these pages explain aspects of the server that are more than just RP, and have been specifically made by staff to provide a baseline of lore for the world.
Your wiki page must be properly formatted, updated, named, and in order. Do not use your IGN to name your page for your actual character.
Be mindful of these things when roleplaying:
What can be said in RP is more lenient, and should not be taken personally.
Wars are considered RP events.
Some RP events warrant a RP interaction regardless of you wanting to or not, such as war or as a result of something you did like theft.
You should not intermix RP and personal beef.
You may not mix OOC and RP, use the proper chats.
PvP is allowed in the overworld, provided it is not targeting, spawn or area camping, or tricks such as teleport killing and spawn/teleport trapping.
PvP is also allowed in the End and Nether, following the same rules as above.
Griefing and stealing in the Nether and End is permitted, but must follow the "natural beauty" rule stated in Griefing & Building.
